THE ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL BODIES OF NIGERIA (Lagos State chapter) ON COURTESY VISIT TO YABA LCDA.
Members of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (Lagos State chapter) on Monday 17th September, 2012 paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman, Yaba LCDA in his office. Led by their chairman, Mr. Adewale Adeyemi, the visit was to identify with the Executive Chairman on his distinctive manner his administration is being run and to commend him on his laudable achievements.
Mr Adeyemi , in his short speech, said the Association was officially recognised in January, 1982 and comprises of more than 24 professional bodies in Nigeria with the aim of promoting a new era of cooperation among all professional bodies in Nigeria. He commended the Executive chairman for his good work and urged him not to relent in his effort. He said the State Executive of APBN has decided to give the Chairman a distinctive professional award in recognition of his good work. He used the avenue to inform the chairman of the forth-coming programme of the Association in November and sought for his assistance and presence at the occasion.
He hinted that the Association was ready to partner with the Local Government in the areas of Project Implementation, Revenue generation, Architectural Design and other areas where the association’s attention was needed.
The Council Chairman, Hon Jide Jimoh, in his response thanked the Association of professional bodies of Nigeria, Lagos chapter for the visit. He highlighted the achievements of his administration from its inception till date which cut across health care service delivery, infrastructural development, social and welfare services, poverty alleviation and skill acquisition, free Ambulance services and security but to mention few.
While emphasizing the indispensability of involving professionals in the scheme of things for quality job to be done, he assured members of APBN of the local government’s readiness to partner with the association. He specifically invited them to come and assist in the development of some properties.
He urged the professional bodies to be actively involved in the governance of Yaba LCDA and assured them of the readiness to also partner with the Association in the area of Revenue generation. He also promised to be at the Association programme in November.
Present at the occasion on the part of Yaba LCDA were Vice Chairman, Hon Bola Lawal Olumegbon,, Secretary, Hon Doyin Rojaye, Supervisor for Women affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hon Enikanologbon,and Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Nurudeen Akinwunmi while on the part of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria were: Mr Adewale R. Adeyemi, Chairman APBN, Bolarinde J Patunola-Ajayi, Vice Chairman APBN. Others were: Mrs Lynda Onefeli, Arc. Ladipo Lewis, Arc. Abimbola Ajayi, TPL Makinde Ogunleye, Builder John A. Akinpelu, Ogunjimi Abayomi, Wasiu A. Akewusola and Engr. Akin Akintola.
