Members of the Executive of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (Lagos District Society) on Monday 24^th September paid a courtesy visit on the Executive Chairman, Yaba LCDA, Hon Jide JImoh in his office.

The members led by the Chairman, Mr Kola Babarinde thanked the Council Chairman for honouring their request, which he said was a surprise and timely. He went further to say that the visit was important to them in view of the landmark achievements of Hon Jide Jimoh and his team in Yaba. He said that the institute always loved to associate and identify with such performers to see how the body could complement and partner with such government to do more.

According to him, the institute was ready to render assistance to the government in the areas tax education and sensitisation, seminars and workshops on tax related matters, project evaluation and valuation, and offering of professional advice towards effective and efficient collection of taxes and rates. He congratulated the Executive Chairman for wonderful achievements and promised the institute’s support to the government.

In his response, the Executive Chairman, Hon Jide Jimoh thanked members of the Executive for the visit. He said one of the major problems the administration faced when it came in 2008 was inadequate revenue. He said the council’s revenue was in the region of N24million yearly.

The administration sat down and put all necessary mechanism in place and in the following year, the council raked in N99m. He went further to highlight some of the projects and life touching programmes of the administration which cut across health, education, poverty alleviation, skill acquisition, support for the aged people and infrastructural development. He called on the institute to forward their proposals in the areas where the administration could partner with the institute.
