The environmental sanitation exercise for the month of August was observed throughout Lagos state on Saturday 25th. The Yaba LCDA environmental team was led by the Supervisor for the Environment, Hon Bola Aileru and other members of the Executive and the Management teams.

The team moved to Makoko Road where the community were assisted in clearing of drainages and packing of their garbage into the compactor in line with Lagos State environmental policy of maintaining a healthy environment.

The team then moved from there to Church Street linking Sariyu to Commercial Avenue where members of the community were given the opportunity to move their refuse into the compactor. Some houses were served warning notices for not tidying up their environment. 54 people were arrested for violating environmental law.

  1. Wel done. Good to hear that people were monitored by the council management to adequatly sanition. Those arrested would be a lesson to residents nt to disobey environmental laws of lagos state. Ride on YABA!

    Sir, we appeal to your team to visit Iwaya during the next sanitation. People need to be enforced for 100% compliance as majority of them never take this serious at all. Please, our communtiy need to be sanitized and free from varieties of disease that is dangerious to health.
