PROFESSIONALS ARE NOT TO BE WRITTEN OFF………Council boss to Nigeria Institute of Builders.
Aug 1st, 2012 | By Akinlade Dada | Category: courtesy Visit, Lead Story, NEWSThe new executives of Nigeria Institute of Builders, Lagos State Chapter on Wednesday, 1st August, 2012 paid a courtesy call on the Executive Chairman, Yaba LCDA, Hon Abdulraheem Olajide Jimoh in his office.
The purpose of the visit, according to the institute’s chairman, builder J. A. Akinpelu, was to appreciate the council boss on his contributions to the growth of Nigeria Institute of Builders and his efforts towards the members materially and morally. It was also to serve as on- the- spot assessment of their professional colleagues working in the council and urged the chairman to give information that would serve as performance index on their colleagues.
The executive chairman, Hon Jide Jimoh, in his response, thanked Almighty God for sparing their lives despite the prevailing problems in the country. He congratulated the new Executives and wished them a successful tenure. The chairman commended the professionalism of Mr Wright, the Head of Works Department,Yaba LCDA who is one of their products in the council and who was due to retire. He described Mr. Wright as ‘courageous, dogged and professional ‘. He however called on the Institute to come into partnership with the LCDA in the area of building projects. He promised to sponsor staff of the LCDA to the Annual General Meeting of the Institute.
At the meeting are Builder J.A. Akinpelu, Chairman, Builder M. A, Abass, the immediate past chairman, Builder F. A Elegbede, General Secretary,and Builder Kunle Awobodu, former chairman and National Publicity Secretary. Others are: Builder Bankole A M Treasurer, Builer Asimiyu B. S. Vice Chairman, Builder Adegoke Alani, Publicity Secretary, Builder Adesanya F.A, ex-Officio and Builder Isename E. ex-officio.
