YABA INAUGURATES SECURITY ENLIGHTENMENT COUNCIL
| One of the cardinal programmes of the present administration as spelt out in the policy plan of the council is the security of lives and properties of the entire community. Against this backdrop, the Executive Chairman, Yaba LCDA, Hon AbdulRaheem Olajide Jimoh inaugurated the security enlightenment council to serve as an advisory body, educate and enlighten the residents on the need to be security conscious in the environment.
The chairman, Yaba LCDA, Hon Jide Jimoh who also doubled as the chairman of the committee, in his address said that the purpose of setting up the security committee was to improve the quality of service delivery in terms of security of lives and properties and to guarantee a business friendly and peaceful environment. He said the committee would also see to the development of mutual partnership between the Police and the community on security matters.
The Security and Enlightenment Council is made up of community development association leaders, youths from each ward, and representatives of Police formations, market Leaders and politicians. They are also to act on an emergency matters on security issues in Yaba community and they shall be trained in order to develop their skills, instil confidence and right attitude in them. They would be sent to seminars and workshops on security matters.
Membership of the council comprises of Hon. Jide Jimoh (Chairman, Yaba Security Enlightenment Council), Hon. Doyin Rojaye (secretary), Alh. Babamole, Alh. M.M. Akinbola, Apostle Ojo, Alh. Jubril Jimoh and Taiwo Somade. Others include: Hon. Ayeosebikan, Kunle Banjo, Ibarahim Babalola, Adeyemo Wasiu, Aro Dotun, Olasemi Olawoye, Bidemi Adeboye, Saka Saidu, Okona Ifeayin, Mr. Olaleye Micheal, Sunkanmi Kamson, Shola Ademuluyi, Obalade John, Hagbe Emmanuele and Mr. Bruno Itobore.
