LET THERE BE LIGHT……….As Jide Jimoh distributes 500KVA Transformers worth N21m to seven communities.

The Executive chairman of Yaba LCDA, Hon AbdulRaheem Olajide Jimoh on Tuesday 10th July, 2012 fulfilled one of his second term electioneering promises as he added value to the lives of the community by distributing seven 500KVA transformers to seven communities in the LCDA. The communities that benefited are Makoko in Ward B, Onike / Johnson / Majaro in Ward C, Abule-Oja in ward D, Alagomeji in ward E, Iwaya in ward F, Borno way / Olonode in ward H and Abule Ijesha in ward I.

In his speech, the chairman said the use of electricity was paramount to human activities. According to him,’ No one can do without it and it has become a parameter to assess the major difference between a developed and under- developed country, between a rural area and urban centre, and between a buoyant and a comatose economy.

His words:  The challenges Nigeria is facing as per her economy are basically traceable to the problems in the energy sector. Nigeria’s economy is in a doldrums because of the country’s epileptic power supply. Various sectors have suffered incalculable damage to the extent that the mainstay of an economy, manufacturing and production sectors are almost dead with many companies closing down.’

The chairman added that it was therefore imperative for any responsive and responsible government to come to the aid of our electricity regulatory agency in order to ensure that there was improved distribution of electricity to encourage the growth of small scale or cottage industry.

Your work has made us proud, and we never regretted as electing you as The Executive Chairman of Yaba lcda. My community Makoko, was among of the beneficiary of the newly transformer deployed to Sariyu street. This will go along way and addressed the constant visitation to PHCN office and technicians for repairs as a result of too much of load, hence, it will be reduced on the existing transformer. What shall we the youth of the community say, only to continuously appreciating your good work. You have done well and GOD shall pay you back in a millions fold. Thank you Mr. Chairman
