YABA LCDA HOLDS PRAYER SUMMIT AND STAFF FORUM.
Thursday May 17, 2012 was a day set aside by the management and staff of Yaba Local Council Development Area to seek the face of God as the administration of the amiable and indefatigable Chairman, Hon Abdulaheem Olajide Jimoh moves on. As soon as it was 12.00 p.m, activities within the premises stopped as both Muslims and Christians converged at their places of worship within the premises to seek the face of God for forgiveness, mercy, protection, guidance, provision and safety. The service which lasted for one hour was also used to pray for the repose of the departed souls. After the prayer session, the staff then gathered at the car park for a staff forum where the chairman addressed the staff
In his briefing, the chairman was displeased at the rate at which members of staff engage in rumour-mongering especially as regards the death of the NULGE branch chairman and other departed staff. Hon jide Jimoh made it known that death is inevitable in the life of human beings and has become a debt that all must pay. He said no one has the right and authority to take another person’s life except God who is both the giver and the taker of life. He went ahead to say that for someone to be attributing the death of the departed staff to another person is uncalled for. He urged the staff to move closer to their creator, be committed and trust HIM as HE (God) has the sole power to life.
He however reiterated his stand not to allow any form of ogun worshipping in the premises as this is against his belief. Hon Jide Jimoh advised the staff not to play with their health. According to him, staff must cultivate the habit of carrying out routine comprehensive medical checks. He rounded up his short speech by calling on staff to be more dedicated and committed to their duty as management would do everything possible to improve their welfare.
At the forum were members of the Executive committee, the legislative arm, council manager and members of the management team, head of departments and the entire workforce.
