YABA LOCAL COUNCIL

Council Boss Immunises Children of LMLG Nursery and Primary School, Onayade-Yaba.

The second round of this year’s polio immunization programme came to an end with the Executive Chairman of Yaba LCDA, Hon. AbdulRaheem Olajide Jimoh performing the immunisation exercise on the children of LMLG Nursery and Primary School at Onayade.

The chairman, in the company of the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) of the council Dr. Sunday Orebiyi and Supervisor for Health, Mrs Bisi Thomas was at the Igbobi Sabe PHC to immunize the children with the polio vaccine.

The chairman called on all parents to see the exercise as a joint and collective responsibility if our environment was to be made polio free. Government will continue to play its own role by ensuring that the vaccines get to the nooks and crannies of the state. ‘’Parents should be sensitive to the health of their Children for they are the leaders of today and tomorrow’’, he said.

Mrs Bola Adams, a teacher, commended government’s commitment towards the eradication of polio among children. She said the vaccines would lead to the reduction of meningitis among children and other related diseases. The second round exercise that began on  Saturday 31st March, 2012 ended on Tuesday 3rd April, 2012.

The responsibility of any Government is to be responsive and responsible. Your local council is one out of many. jide jimoh you are somebody.God bless u

  2. Dare

He is one out of many indeed? For months and months on now, the fence of Lagos City College is still down having suffered the horrent rain that befell Yaba long time ago. He and his aides gave unreachable mobile phone numbers and promised several communities that had roofs blown away and streets that had their electricity poles fallen, a repaired haven. Till date…its invisible story! Nothing has been done. If Yaba LCDA kills a mosquito, it would be posted on this website has having done something!..the real work to be done is still invisible in our localities and this administration is yet to meet satisfactory level and only those close to it who benefit from it would disagree. We hardly see our local councillors engage us in discussions or observations to our needs as a locality, except in beer parlours or during English Premier League matches. Its saddening what this institution of democracy is defined as at local levels…especially within my own local community- Yaba.

  3. Bunmi

I am quite awared that yaba local government has done a lot of thing. Dare you should try and be constructive in your comment. I now know you are an agent of destruction. Going by your various comments, I have observed you being sponsored by enemies of progress. Make comment at your own folly.

Mr Dare, I am a teacher, I know yaba local council has done some repairs on damaged roofs, fence, and other related . Mr , chairman let your supervisor and management published these for people to see on web. Some of your councillors are drunkered as rightly pointed out by Dare. Take note. Your Council manager is one of them and his a layer.

  5. Anu

I mean liar and not layer. Pls don’t mind my English.

  6. Dare

@Bunmi, Out of destruction or distortion comes construction. We can never reach order if we don’t go on a path of chaos. Fela composed the song “suffering and smiling” for your likes because you would rather settle selfessly for the little instead of challenging for the more… As i type, Lagos City College’s fence is still down! My father went to that school, its a great alma-mater….No fence.

@ Dare and Bunmi, this web is created to enable us suggest, correct and show case our opinion but not turn to a battle field. We should be constructive and objective in your contribution. I appreciate this opportunity, as the whole world share and hear our community views. This make the government to be opened and ready to make changes when the need arise. Councillors should be responsible to their wards and ready to give a stewardship accounts on their respective wards. The legacy of a working leader, Chairman Jide Jimoh should be emulated. The Chairman can’t see it all, but i believe he will give a listing hear to our plight accordingly.

@ Dare!!! I’m a non politician, but i believe you are one of them. If you are anti- Yaba administration you are welcome, government without a critics lack focus either development. I was sad when i saw your comment ” the real work to be done is still invisible in our localities and this administration is yet to meet satisfactory level and only those close to it who benefit from it would disagree” For Christ sake why did people always engage in propaganda? This administration has perform excellently and woo the residents convincingly, only the ingrate and Judas condemn and criticized. According to a yoruba adage ” Melo la fe ka ninu eyin adepele” Let us be focused and be constructive in our comment, not to be used as a weapon of destruction to the good work of a man who re-define and change the face of Yaba to the best but to support him. Thank you

  9. Akeem

The Chairman as done well and may GOD continue to be with him to do more. It’s the right of Yaba people to call Chairman’s attention to untouched stone but not in a crued manner. Jide Jimoh’s achievment can’t be compromised or be negotiated with.

  10. Adewale

@ Dare. I believe you need to be lectured on what you don’t know. All primary schools affairs were run by the Local Government or LCDA, while all secondary schools affairs are run by the State government respectively. It’s the responsibility of the State government to fence or rehabilitate Lagos City College not the Yaba LCDA. Always ensure that you get your fact before you desciminate information or alleged wrongly.

  11. Leke

Mr. Chairman, pls let your executive, legislative and management produce pictorial evidences on what they have done. Mr . Dare has said it all. Your councillors oftentimes find in beer palour with your concil manager and one Megida who can not speak correct English.

  12. Femi

@ Dare,it is so obvious that your level of I.Q is low.Just because someone goes to a bar doesn’t make that person irresponsible.Everyone has a right to a social life, the most important thing is not to drink during work hours which I haven’t heard of such from this set of councillors and for your information some of the councillors have been working e.g Hon onikan(ward G) recently donated DSTV & generators,Hon Akeju(ward C) has rehabilitated two boreholes while Hon. Asunramu(ward A) is clearing drainages.Dare am sure you’re an agent of the opposition but if you want to criticize, please do so constructively.

  13. Annabel
